Charcoal Smoked Brisket

This past forth of July I was visiting my sister who recently decided to move to Tijeras, New Mexico. I was pleasantly surprised to discover Arrogant Bastard available while awaiting my flight. Upon arrival in Albuquerque we stopped at Costco where I decided to buy a brisket for $55 bucks. I wanted to smoke it, I wound up using a Weber Grill and Mesquite Charcoal. To my surprise the smoke was really flavorful in the meat. I mixed a quick simple rub with chili powder, brown sugar, black pepper and salt. I prepared the coals trimmed the brisket to manageable sizes & fat content. I seared the brisket on the even layer of hot coals, then I removed the brisket and scooped all the coals to one side of the grill. Then I put the brisket on the other side and allowed them to smoke over indirect heat with a foil blanket for about an hour and a half. Then I placed the brisket in a 250 degree oven for 4-6 hours glazing with Sweet Baby Ray Barbecue Sauce. That smoke was really good on that meat.
